• Start your checklist with the obvious items—sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses. Protecting your skin and eyes from the sun can help prevent sunburn, cancer, cataracts, and other sun damage.
• Don’t let the cool, refreshing pool water distract you from the fact that you need to stay hydrated. It’s surprisingly easy to get dehydrated from a day of swimming and sun. Make sure to bring along drinking water for the whole family.
• Entertain yourself by packing books, magazines, or children’s toys that will keep your entire family engaged and smiling. Just make sure to bring them back home when you leave.
