- A large freezer-safe baking dish or bowl
- A sturdy spatula
- A whisk
- Sauce pan
- Mixing bowl
- ½ cup of heavy cream
- 1 ½ cups of half-and-half
- ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract
- ½ cup of sugar
- 4 egg yolks
- Pinch of salt
Now that you’re back in your kitchen, mix together your heavy cream and half-and-half over a medium heat until small bubbles and wisps of steam start to rise. Take the tray out and use a spatula to thoroughly break up the crystallizing chunks and smooth out the ice cream. Place back in the freezer and repeat the process every 30 minutes for the next 2 to 3 hours. When you’re done, you’ll have a delicious, creamy vanilla ice cream ready to enjoy.
