While You are Out: Mail Options for Your Gainesville Apartment
There are easy ways to have your mail handled while you are out of town. By simply using the Internet, you can take care of your personal mail for up to six months.
- If you will be out of town from 3-30 days: The United States Postal Service will hold your mail for up to 30 days and resume delivery on the date you select. It even supplies same-day-service with online requests submitted before 3 a.m.
- If you will be out of town from two weeks to one year: You might want to sign up for the Postal Service’s Premium Forwarding Service. There is an enrollment free of $15 and a weekly reshipment fee of $13.95. All your mail will reach you via Priority Mail to your temporary Gainesville apartment.
- If you’ll be moving permanently to your Gainesville apartment: You will need to fill out a change of address form for the Post Office. It is available online and costs only $1 to verify your address.
